ProCultHer - Protecting Cultural Heritage from the Consequences of Disasters

Building upon recent experiences on the protection of Cultural Heritage during disasters, and on the outcomes of PROMEDHE, a previous EU funded project, PROCULTHER is contributing to develop capacities of Union Civil Protection Mechanism Participating States to protect Cultural Heritage by placing this issue at the top of national European agendas and making the enhancement of CH resilience a common goal. In particular, PROCULTHER focuses on establishing a driven inter-disciplinary capacity for the safeguard of cultural heritage in emergency, based on the definition of a European common methodology and technical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in this field. It also aims at creating tools and concrete technical support with the purpose of initiating or further developing national discussions on the development of national capacities in this field. In order to achieve at best its expected results, PROCULTHER is pooling together the professional skills and competences from the Consortium Partners implementing the Project, as well as from Union Civil Protection Mechanism Participating States and third countries.

Goals:The project aims at improving collaboration and coordination arrangements among national disaster management players to promote better organized and more effective national civil protection systems.
